When you need a receipt in Ireland
Ireland has no general rule on what a receipt must show. A VAT-registered customer may need a VAT invoice rather than a receipt.
Receipt or invoice?
An invoice asks for payment. A receipt confirms that payment has been made. If you already sent an invoice, the receipt can refer to its number.
